New Delhi: The thick fog engulfing the northern region has adversely affected train operations today with 37 trains, mostly Delhi-bound, running late by several hours causing inconvenience to passengers.
The fog has caused delay in premier trains like Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi trains. Rajdhani trains coming from Guwahati, Ranchi, Patna, Howrah, Mumbai and Bhubaneswar are running late by three to five hours.
Services of Sealdah Duronto and Kanpur Shatabdi have also been affected because of the low visibility due to dense fog. While Jansadharan Express is running 10 hours late, Vikramshila Express and Samprakranti Express are behind schedule by eight and seven hours late respectively, according to Northern Railway data.
Railways has cancelled the Rohtak Intercity Express for the day due to the foggy weather condition.
