The Patiala House court in New Delhi has granted bail to three accused arrested in connection with sectarian riots in Delhi last month. The accused, namely, Danish, Pervez Alam and Mohammed Iliyas have been granted bail. The court asked the investigating officer (IO) as to why he didn't offer bail to the accused in bailable offence.
Meanwhile, two more persons were arrested on Friday for their alleged involvement in last month's communal violence, in which over 50 people were killed, police said.
The accused have been identified as Tanvir and Gulfam, they said.
On Thursday, two members of the Popular Front of India -- Parvez and Iliyas -- were arrested for allegedly being involved in the riots.
They were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
Giving an update on the progress of police investigation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Parliament this week that the cops had so far identified 1,922 persons through the use of facial recognition software.
