New Delhi: National highway-24 that crosses the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border will be closed on Monday due to some religious protests, Delhi traffic police said on Sunday.
'Both carriageways on the NH-24 from Ghazipur flyover in east Delhi to Uttar Pradesh border will be closed Monday for all types of vehicles,' said a traffic advisory.
Traffic coming from south Delhi's Nizamuddin to Ghaziabad will have to take a compulsory turn from NH-24 to the UP link road near Akshardham temple and go straight up to Noida gate, while commuters coming from Ghaziabad will have to take a turn near Hasanpur depot in Ghaziabad to enter Delhi.
'Traffic signages have been placed at appropriate locations for the guidance of motorists and adequate traffic staff deployed to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of traffic,' said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
