Jodhpur/ New Delhi, May 4: Continuous study and hope were key attributes that brought the third rank in Civil Services Examination to Stuti Charan hailing from a small village Khari Kalla in Jodhpur.
"I appeared in IAS three times in total but succeeded in third attempt because I was determined and had always seen myself to be in this elite service of the country," said ecstatic Stuti, who is currently in Ahmedabad for her training as a Probationary Officer in UCI Bank.
Having studied bio-technology in graduation from Lachoo Memorial College of Science and Technology and then MBA (Personnel/Marketing) from IIPM, New Delhi, Stuti never digressed from her goal, which was to become an IAS.
"I grew up with the expectation of my uncle and grandfather to see me as an IAS, so it was grooming since childhood in this way, which never let me deviate from the goal to become an IAS," Stuti said.
It was not only the urge to fulfil her family's expectations that acted as a constant motivation, but her own will to serve the country, most significantly, the women lot and to bring changes for betterment of the society being a part of the system.
Her father Ram Karan Bareth, who is a Deputy Director (Admin) with the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation in Jaipur said she never went for any coaching and devoted daily 8-10 hours to study.
"She has the hobby of poetry and writing small novels, jingles, which she utilised as the mind freshener and stress buster during study," Bareth said.
Stuti has also won essay competitions conducted by the competition magazine 'Competition Success Review' twice.
"I appeared in the bank PO examination just with a view to keep myself continuous study and for self assessment," she said adding "but the goal was IAS."
Her father said that the educational atmosphere of the family also contributed a lot to her mental orientation.
Her mother Suman is a Hindi lecturer in government school and younger sister Neeti is a dentist.
Stuti said "I always found my parents standing by me and not letting me lose my confidence."
