New Delhi: The Delhi Government's Directorate of Education (DoE) today directed private schools to upload the criteria adopted for nursery admission for the academic year 2015-16, offering some relief to the parents.
"All managers of private unaided recognised schools in Delhi are hereby directed to upload their criteria adopted (including points, if any) on departmental website www.Edudel.Nic.In," stated a circular issued by Additional Director of Education Ashima Jain.
The schools have been asked to upload the information by January 3. As per the circular, the district DOEs shall monitor the uploading of the information by schools and ensure that the exercise is completed by January 3.
"Non compliance of the order shall be viewed seriously...," the circular stated.
On admission of children belonging to economically weaker sections (EWS), the DoE clarified that "food security cards issued by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Delhi should be considered as documentary proof for applying under EWS category in entry level classes of private school in Delhi, in addition to the income certificate issued by a revenue officer not below the rank of Tehsildar, BPL Ration Card or AAY Ration Card."
The DoE, in an another circular, directed the schools to display a single list mentioning the names in alphabetical order of selected general category and children belonging to EWS or Disadvantage Group.
To redress the grievances of parents of the EWS category children, the DoE in its circular offered a link on which parents may file complaints related to the admission process in nursery classes.
