In a daylight daring robbery incident on Saturday morning in Asia's largest plastic market adjoining Sadar Bazar, Delhi, four robbers with faces covered came on two motorbikes, and waylaid a trader going on a rickshaw.
The robbers fired in the air, with one bullet hitting Nilesh Jain, standing on a balcony above, killing him instantly. They also fired bullets injuring two others.
The robbers decamped with a bag containing cash from the injured trader.
Local traders of the plastic market staged a sit-in protesting police inaction against criminals. The traders shouted slogans against the police.
Senior Delhi police officials arrived at the spot and assured them that they would soon catch hold of the culprits.
