Delhi: A mega anti-encroachment drive has been launched by Delhi Police in order to decongest the densely populated areas of Central Delhi ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
The drive which was launched around a week ago and has been appreciated by the locals.
Small time shopkeepers and hawkers have been removed in areas like Meena Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Matia Mahal, Motor Market among others.
Areas in vicinity of Jama Masjid and Red Fort were especially targeted in order to ensure smooth movement of traffic and security ahead of the Independence Day.
