Two Delhi Police personnel were found dead in the past 24 hours. the police said on Sunday. While Havildar Yogendra Mathur, 29, was found dead in suspicious circumstances, Inspector Yogesh Kumar apparently succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident.

"The Railway Police informed on Sunday morning about the body of a policeman lying on the railway track in the Mundka area. He was identified as Havildar Mathur, 29," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) Harendra Singh.

Mathur was identified on the basis of documents recovered from his pocket, the DCP said.

A resident of Karala, Mathur was posted in the Delhi Police Traffic Control room. No suicide note was found from his possession, the DCP said.

The havildar had returned from a long medical leave and re-joined the work just two days ago. He was married and had a 2-year-old son.

In case of Inspector Kumar, doctors at the Venkateswara Hospital declared him dead on arrival. He was posted at IGI Airport and lived in Sector 19 of Dwarka.

Kumar was currently posted on deputation at SIT in Khan Market. His death, prima facie, seems to be accidental, the police said.
