New Delhi, Sep 28: Delhi government today announced a compensation of Rs two lakh to the next of kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured in the building collapse incident here.
The compensation was announced by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit after a Cabinet meeting here this evening. According to Dikshit, the next of kin of those killed in last night's incident in Old Delhi's congested Chandni Mahal will get Rs two lakh.
In case of the death of a child, she said, the relatives will get Rs one lakh.
Dikshit also announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured persons while children orphaned in the tragedy will receive Rs one lakh each.
Seven persons, including four women and a child, were killed in the incident. One of the deceased is yet to be identified. PTI
