Ram Singh's mother Kalyani Devi alleged: "His enemies killed him because he was the son of a poor man."
V K Anand, Ram Singh's lawyer, said there appears to be "foul play" behind Ram Singh's death.
"He was tortured by police after his arrest. Ram Singh was under pressure to change his lawyer, but he had full trust in me, because I had almost demolished the case against him. The government, the prosecution and the police all had put pressure on Ram Singh", alleged Anand.
