A fire broke out at a footwear factory in Delhi's Narela area on Monday, reported news agency ANI. At least 9 fire tenders have reached the spot, and efforts to douse the flames are underway, Delhi Fire Services informed.
The incident comes 3 days after 27 people were killed in a major fire incident at Delhi's Mundka.
Around 8.40 pm, the police received information about the fire and that two persons were trapped inside, a senior police officer said. The premises belonged to Mukesh Gupta, a resident of Adarsh Nagar. According to the police, after the factory caught fire there were cracking sounds and the smoke caused itching in the eyes.
However, the factory owner, Vivek said all the 10 workers in his factory have managed to come out safely.
On Saturday as well, a fire broke out in Narela at a plastic factory. A call was received from the factory in Narela at around 9 at night. The official said that they received a call about the fire incident at 9.10 p.m. in the factory at H 1373, DSIDC, Narela, in outer north Delhi after which as many as 20 fire tenders were immediately pressed into the service.
The official was unable to furnish details about any injuries or casualties.
