Delhi wall collapse: At least 5 people have died, 2 more are critically injured and many are feared trapped after a wall of the under-construction warehouse collapsed in Delhi's Alipur on Friday.

Delhi police confirmed that of the 10 people rescued, 5 of them have succumbed to injuries.

The injured have been sent to the hospital.

Rescue operation continues as some more people are feared trapped, said Delhi Police.

A total of 4 fire tenders were rushed to the incident site to help in the rescue operation.

Reports said around 15 people were injured after getting under the debris of the under-construction building.

It's a 5,000-square-yard godown whose wall collapsed, reports said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the incident saying, "anguished by the mishap in Alipur, Delhi. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those who are injured recover at the earliest."

Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg said that they received a call about the incident around 12.40 pm at Bakoli village, near Chauhan Dharamkanta in the Narela area after which six fire tenders were immediately pressed into service.

Around 15 injured people that were trapped under the debris were rescued by the firemen and immediately rushed to the Raja Harish Chand Hospital.

The local police have set a perimeter for the people to keep them away from the incident site as an intense rescue operation was going on to save any person who might be still trapped under the debris. Meanwhile, two JCB cranes were deployed to remove the debris of the collapsed wall.
