Srinagar: The toll in Jammu and Kashmir floods rose to 13 on Thursday, police said.
The latest casualties took place when four people were killed late on Wednesday - two were washed away in flash floods in Poonch district of Jammu region, while two died in landslides triggered by flash floods in Badgam district of the Kashmir Valley.
Earlier, five members of a family were killed in a landslide in Reasi district of Jammu region on Wednesday, while a BSF inspector was killed in a bunker collapse on the LoC in Poonch district of the same region.
Several parts of the state, especially in Srinagar, North Kashmir and South Kashmir, were experiencing incessant rains for the last two days disrupting normal life.
The MeT department has predicted very heavy rain for the next 72 hours.
