New Delhi, Jul 18: A co-accused in a Commonweath Games scam case, who has been declared a proclaimed offender and is on the run, today assured a Special CBI court here that he will surrender if he fails to get any relief from the Delhi High Court.

The proclaimed offender A K Reddy, promoter of Hyderabad-based AKR Constructions, submitted an undertaking before Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh that he would surrender before the court within a week if he is not granted anticipatory bail which is pending before the High Court.

Earlier, another promoter of AKR Construction P D Arya and that of Gem International Anil Madan, who were also declared proclaimed offenders, had submitted an affidavit in the court with a similar undertaking.

Reddy, Arya and Madan have their anticipatory bail pleas pending before the High Court.

AKR Construction was sublet the Timing, Scoring, Result (TSR) system contract by Faridabad-based Gem International, which itself was a sub-contractor of ‘Swiss Timing', said to be allegedly favoured illegally by sacked OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi and others.

Reddy's anticipatory bail plea was rejected on June 15 and a cost of Rs 25,000 was imposed on him for seeking to recall the May 23 order by which he was declared a proclaimed offender.

All three stand accused of corruption, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy. PTI
