Guwahati, Apr 14: Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (ARGUCOM) established in 2010 is ready for its first batch of students for its three-year BBA (Cooperation) course for the session 2013-16.
Government sponsored ARGUCOM is the first cooperative management university in the country established under the Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management Act, 2010, an official release said.
BBA (Coop) will be spread over three years and is based on the Trimester system of curriculum involving academic rigour and wide course coverage, the release said.
The University, set up at Sibsagar in Upper Assam, is a teaching, residential university with the mission of education for widening knowledge and learning, training for enhancing skill and managerial capacity, research for searching innovative spheres and to make efforts for all round development of cooperative movement and rural economy.
The academic architecture of the University has been designed to incorporate Five Schools - School of Entrepreneurship and Management, School of Innovation and Technology, School of Culture and Media, School of Public Policy and Law, besides School of Ecology and Sustenance.
The University has tied up with IIM-Ahmedabad in the process of its design of curriculum.
Besides, the University is in the process of collaborating with Institutions of repute like National Law University, Delhi, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, for its academic pursuits.
10ư passed candidates with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) or appearing candidates in either of Science/Arts/Commerce streams are eligible to apply for admission into the Programme, the release added
