New Delhi: Country feels proud of security forces like the BSF which protects the country, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said today.
Inaugurating the 63rd All India Police Aquatic and Cross Country Championship 2014-15, Rijiju congratulated the Border Security Force for organising the championship and thanked all those who were participating the event in addition to discharging their normal security duties.
“The country feels proud to have jawans like you and the efforts you put in, helps you to win the medals as well as to maintain the country's security,” he said.
In the championship, around 700 sportspersons in 24 teams from various police organisations including Andhra Pradesh Police, Assam Rifle, BSF, Chhattisgarh Police, Chandigarh Police, CRPF, CISF, Gujrat Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police participated.
Other participating police forces included Jharkhand Police, Kerala Police, Maharasthra Police, Odisha Police, Punjab Police, Rajasthan Police, RPF, Tamil Nadu Police, Telangana Police, Tripura Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, Uttarakhand Police, Haryana Police, Madhya Pradesh Police and ITBP.
