New Delhi, Sept 19: The Congress on Monday said there was a clear divide in the NDA over the issue of projecting Narendra Modi as primeministerial candidate.
Party spokesperson Renuka Chaudhary said: "You can see who is pro-Modi and who is anti-Modi in NDA. I don't want to comment on the cracks in NDA, as it would be unparliamentary."
On Modi's fast, she said: "We are not going to react to Modi's naatak(drama). I think he though this was a new weightloss programme to reduce his weight."
Asked about why so many BJP leaders attended Modi's fast, while none from Congress attended Vaghela's fast, Renuka replied: "We don't need to. BJP leaders may need to attend Modi's fast. Vaghela is the tallest Congress leader in Gujarat. There was no deliberate reason not to go (to his fast)."
Asked about Modi refusing to wear a Muslim skull cap, Renuka said: "He should ask his own conscience."
On L K Advani's proposed yatra against corruption, Renuka said, this could be another Mungerilal's dream, alluding to the old TV serial, Mungeri Lal ke Haseen Sapney.
