Congress Lok Sabha Election new list: Raj Babbar fielded from Gurgaon, Anand Sharma in Kangra
The development comes amid speculations over the names of Congress candidates from its family bastion - Raebareli and Amethi. It was expected that the grand old party would announce the name candidates for Raebareli and Amethi but the party maintained the suspense over the candidature.

The Congress on Tuesday released a fresh list of four candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The grand old party fielded actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar from Gurugram, Haryana and senior party leader Anand Sharma from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Satpal Raizada got a ticket from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh and Bhushan Patil from Mumbai North, Maharashtra.
Satpal Raizada, a former MLA from Himachal Pradesh's Una, will contest the general elections against BJP candidate and Union Minister Anurag Thakur.
This is the first Lok Sabha election that Sharma will be contesting. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in April 1984 and has been a member of the Upper House of Parliament for four terms. He has been a Union minister during the UPA government under Manmohan Singh and has also been a deputy leader of the Congress in the Rajya Sabha till he retired in 2022.
