Chandigarh: Cold wave conditions with an overcast sky prevailed over most parts in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Saturday and rain is likely in the weekend Met officials said here.
Industrial hub Ludhiana had a high of 13.3 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below normal. Amritsar and Patiala cities in Punjab recorded highs of 14 and 14.8 degrees.
Met officials said that rain or thundershowers could take place in parts of Punjab and Haryana over the next 36 hours. Dense fog conditions, which affected the region in the past 10 days, will return after that, they added.
In Haryana, Hisar town had a high of 14.5 degrees, eight degrees below normal.
Chandigarh, which remained cloudy throughout Saturday and also saw rain drops in some parts, had a high of 16.2 degrees, five degrees below normal. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees.
