In the latest development in the case of Kangana Ranaut being slapped by a CISF constable, an FIR has been registered against accused constable Kulwinder Kaur. She has been booked under sections 323 and 341 of IPC.
The incident was reported at around 3:30 pm on Thursday, after Kangana alleged that she was slapped by a CISF constable during the security check at the Chandigarh airport. She was at the airpport to board a flight for Delhi. After the incident, actor-turned-politican Ranaut reched Delhi and met Director General of the CISF Nina Singh giving her the detailed account of the incident.
What CISF constable said?
Later, a video of the CISF constable emerged where she was expressing anger over Kangana's earlier statement regarding the farmer's protest. In the video, she said, "She (Kangana) stated that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement...".
Farmer organisations bid support for CISF constable
After the video, multiple farmers organisations promtly came in suppport of the CISF constable urging for a proper investigation with no injustice against her. Farmer outfits like Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha emphasised the need for a proper investigation to understand the circumstances that led to the heated argument and altercation while extending their support for the constable amid the controversy.
Meanwhile, Jagjit Singh Dallewal of SKM (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher have said that they will meet Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav and demand proper investigation. Dallewal also said that an "Insaaf march" to Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police's office will be taken out on June 9 "to demand that no injustice be done in this case with the constable".
Kangana won Lok Sabha elections in Mandi Lok Sabha seat
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Kangana Ranaut defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi by 74,755 votes. She polled 5,37,022 votes while Singh got 4,62,267 votes, according to the latest data from the Election Commission of India. The Mandi constituency holds symbolic significance for the Congress, as it is considered a bastion of the Virbhadra family. The seat was being held by Pratibha Devi Singh, the late leader's widow.
