New Delhi: The national capital saw yet another chilly morning as the temperature dipped a notch below the normal while dense fog disrupted rail operations, affecting over 55 trains.
According to a MeT official, the temperature recorded this morning was 6.3 degree Celsius."The recorded temperature is one degree less than the normal temperature of 7.3 degree Celsius.
"The visibility at 8.30 AM was 100 meters at Palam while Safdarjung recorded the visibility of 500 meters. Humidity is around 97 per cent," the official added.
Early morning fog affected the operations of 55 north- bound trains including the Rajdhani trains coming from Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Dibrugarh.
Farakka Express, Mahabodhi Express, Gorakhdham Express and Bramhaputra Mail were also delayed due to fog, a Northern railway official said.No flights were delayed till 9 AM, airport authorities said.
The weatherman has predicted foggy conditions during the day with maximum temperature expected to settle at 17.6 degrees.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature recorded was 9.09 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature was 20.7 degree Celsius.
