Firozabad, May 30 : Cellphone surveillance by the UP police led to the recovery of abducted four-year-old boy Bhavishya, who was kidnapped eight days ago by motorbike-borne youths from Shikohabad, police said.
Bhavishya, a local trader Shravan Kumar's son, had gone to his grandmother's house in Shikohabad, where he was abducted by kidnappers on May 22. He was taken to the badlands of Chambal, where he was kept hidden by a gang of ten persons, including two women, police said.
An eight-member police team raided the house in Mathsaina area of Firozabad district and rounded up the gang, but four key members gave police the slip. Six kidnappers were arrested, police said.
“Bhavishya was kidnapped from his grandparents' house in Shikohabad area by two unidentified persons on May 22. The kidnappers demanded Rs 30 lakh ransom for the release of the the boy,” Special Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters here.
In a joint operation, police and Special Operation Group personnel arrested six persons from Mishri Ka Pura village late Monday night and recovered Bhavishya, he said. The motor-cycle used in kidnapping, three mobile phones and two country-made firearms were seized from them, the Special DGP said.
