Officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reached West Bengal State Secretariat on Sunday evening. The officials were seen carrying documents in their hands. The officials carried four letters with them which they wanted to hand over to the secretariat. The officials had to wait for long before two of the four letters were accepted by the Secretariat. Remaining two letters were addressed to Home Secretary and Chief Secretary of West Bengal.

CBI officials were told to come on Monday as offices of Home Secretary and Chief Secretary were closed on Sunday.

The letters with the CBI team were in connection with Saradha Scam allegations against ex-Kolkata top cop Rajeev Kumar. The CBI had asked Kumar to appear before it for Saradha Scam probe on Saturday. Instead of appearing before the CBI, Rajeev Kumar requested the agency to grant him more time.

"He has sent a communication seeking more time," an authorised source told IANS on Saturday

A police source claimed Kumar, presently posted as Additional Director General of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was at his Park Street residence here consulting lawyers and sent an e-mail to the CBI requesting a month's time as he was on leave.
