The CBI on Friday  recorded the statements of the father and brother of Ruchika besides their family friend Anand Prakash as part of its probe into three fresh FIRs filed against ex-Haryana DGP SPS Rathore who was found guilty of raping the budding tennis player 19 years ago.

The CBI team of the Special Crime Branch (SCB), New Delhi held a marathon eight-hour interaction with Parkash, father of Aradhna, the sole eye witness in the molestation case, at its camp office in Sector 18 here.

"Whatever we wanted to tell the CBI we told them. We narrated the entire sequence of the incident commencing with the molestation (of Ruchika on August 12, 1990)," Parkash, the husband of Madhu who is the complainant in the case in which Rathore was recently awarded six months imprisonment by a CBI court, told reporters after emerging from the meeting.

He said the CBI officials did not ask any questions. "Whatever we told them they took it as a statement. They posed no specific questions." Besides Parkash, the CBI officials held separate meetings with Ruchika's father Subhash Chander Girhotra and her brother Ashu.

Asked whether he gave details about Veena, who Rathore's lawyer-wife Abha had alleged was the second wife of Ruchika's father, Parkash said, "Nothing about Veena was asked to me. There is no denial to Veena's existence, but she has not married to Girhotra."

He said they handed over relevant documents and papers relating to the "false cases" registered against Ashu which had allegedly prompted Ruchika to commit suicide in 1993, three years after she was molested. PTI
