Alwar: The nationality of a doctor, posted at a government hospital here and is to retire in few months, is being probed on the direction of a local court here after an RTI activist filed a case alleging him to be a Pakistan national, police said here today.

“A case has been filed against the suspect Mohanlal Sindhi on the court's direction, after RTI activist Dinesh Jain alleged that he was a Pakistani national and presented documents supporting his allegation,” SHO of Kotwali Police station, Ganpatram Verma said.

Jain in his evidence to the court said that Sindhi was born in Pakistan's Sindh province and came to India along with his mother at the age of two, the police official said, adding that the doctor completed his education in India and also got government job.

He even produced copies of Sindhi's applications to extend his visa in 2012 and for birth certificate from Alwar Municipality, Verma said, adding based in these evidences, the court ordered to file a case of cheating under Section 420 of the IPC and begin a probe.
