New Delhi: A car driver allegedly tried to run over a pedestrian who objected to his rash driving, the second shocking incident of road rage in the national capital in as many days.
The accused Ankit, a resident of Gujrawala in north Delhi, was arrested after the incident last night while the injured youth, Ashu, was admitted to a hospital with injuries to his head and legs, police said.
While he was crossing the road at Shastri Nagar in Saray Rohilla, Ashu was hit by the front wheel of the car driven by Ankit, whom he scolded him. The enraged car driver allegedly returned and tried to hit Ashu again. As the youth fell down on the road, the accused came out of his vehicle and allegedly started beating him. The passersby saved him and a PCR that reached the spot arrested the accused, police said.
It is the second incident of road rage in the city in last couple of days. A man, Shahnawaz, was allegedly beaten to death in front of his two minor children by a group of men after his motorcycle grazed their car in central Delhi's Turkman Gate on Sunday night.
