Allahabad, July 21: The Allahabad High Court today directed the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission to allow 107 candidates, who had been declared unsuccessful in the Provincial Civil Service (Preliminary) examinations held this year on account of discrepancies in evaluation, to appear in Main examination scheduled for next month.
The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justice Vineet Sara and Justice Ranvijai Singh on a writ petition of Sanjay Mishra and others who had challenged the prelims' results declared on June 1.
The petitioners had alleged they were declared unsuccessful as there were discrepancies in the model answer scripts, put up by the UPPSC on its website, against which the candidates' performances were evaluated.
The petitioners would now be allowed to appear in the Main exams scheduled to be held on August 1. PTI
