Nagpur, Feb 27: UP State BSP president, Vilas Garud was beaten black and blue by local BSP unit workers where they had organised a function to felicitate the successful party candidates in Jaripatka in north Nagpur on Monday.
The party workers mercilessly thrashed state BSP president Vilas Garud, who was here to attend the function, for allegedly selling party tickets to the NMC poll aspirants.
It all began when Garud proceeded to take his seat at the dais. A middle-aged woman party worker, Nanda Naik, stormed the dais along with her supporters and quizzed the BSP boss for denying her a party ticket for the civic elections.
Before Garud could react, he was gheraoed by a group of women and men who beat him black and blue. Garud's supporters too, who came to rescue him, were thrashed by the unruly group.
Finally, supporters of winning candidates reached at the dais and got Garud freed from the unruly mob.
Garud was not available for comments.
