    Bihar: Clash erupts between two communities in Patna over dispute about cattle

    A clash broke out on Friday between two communities over a cattle-related dispute in Phulwarisharif area of Patna, police said. The incident took place around 2.30 pm following which police conducted a flag march and took into custody 28 people, they said.

    “Police had seized a truck carrying 38 cattle heads three-four days ago. These were kept inside a cowshed and the administration was investigating the matter. Today, we got information that a minor clash between members of two communities took place in the area, as some people were illegally getting the cattle released from the cowshed.

    Uttarakhand: Houses in Bageshwar villages develop cracks, villagers blame soapstone mining

    Cracks similar to those in Joshimath have appeared on the walls and ceilings of houses in more than two dozen villages of Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand's Kumaon region, sending residents in a state of alarm. 

    Locals attributed land subsidence, which had aggravated with time, to large-scale soapstone mining in the area and excavated ditches being left untreated by contractors, who often violated mining norms by blasting and using heavy machinery for digging.

    Security personnel have recovered six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by Naxalites in a forest in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district, police said on Friday. A team of the district police who was out patrolling on Thursday recovered three IEDs weighing 4 kg each and three more weighing 3 kg each in the forest of Madgaon under the Dhanora police station limits, said Anil Vishwakarma, the sub-divisional officer of police, Farasgaon.

    Rajasthan: Over 100 malnourished children among Sahariya tribe found in Baran district

    At least 172 cases of malnourished children have been identified among Sahariya tribals in Baran district within two weeks, officials said. The children from Shahabad-Kishanganj area were admitted to government-run Malnourishment Treatment Centres (MTCs), with 25 of them discharged after treatment, they said, adding that they remain under monitoring.

    Maharashtra govt makes major reshuffle in police establishment, several DCP-SP-rank officers transferred

    In a major reshuffle within the police establishment, the Maharashtra government on Thursday transferred nearly two dozen officers, including Superintendents of Police (SP), Deputy Commissioner-rank officers, and IPS probationers. According to the transfer orders issued by the state home department, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Raj Tilak Roshan has been reassigned as the Assistant Inspector General (Law and Order) at the Maharashtra police headquarters in Mumbai. Meanwhile, IPS officer Tejaswi Satpute, who previously served as a DCP in Mumbai, has been transferred to Pune city.
