    Maharashtra: Compound wall between two housing societies collapses; nobody hurt

    Some portion of a compound wall between two housing societies collapsed in Maharashtra's Thane city, in which nobody was injured, civic officials said here on Saturday. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm on Friday on Pokharan Road II, chief of the Thane Municipal Corporation's regional disaster management cell (RDMC) Yasin Tadvi said.

    Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Supriya Sule has said that she contested this year's Lok Sabha election from the Baramati seat like a "fakir" and was not "100 per cent" sure of her victory. Speaking to CNN-News 18 channel, the Baramati MP said on Friday that it is "probably unlikely" that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will project a chief ministerial face for the Maharashtra assembly polls due in November.

    Firing at car showroom in Delhi, no one hurt

    Three unidentified assailants opened fire at a second-hand luxury car showroom in west Delhi's Naraina area on Friday evening, police said. While no one was injured in the incident, several luxury cars were damaged. Sources said it was an extortion bid by the Himanshu Bhau gang and a slip reading "Himanshu bhau since 2020" was recovered from the spot.
