The Reserve Bank on Tuesday updated the 'Alert List' of unauthorised forex trading platforms by adding 13 more entities, including TDFX and Inefex, taking the total to 88.

The Alert List contains names of entities which are neither authorised to deal in forex under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA) nor authorised to operate electronic trading platform (ETP) for forex transactions under the Electronic Trading Platforms (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2018.

Based on the Madhya Pradesh High Court's direction, a man accused of raising a pro-Pakistan slogan, reached a police station here on Tuesday and saluted the national flag 21 times by raising 'Bharat Mata ki jai' slogan.

The man, Faizan, was directed by the high court last week to salute the tricolour and raise the 'Bharat Mata ki jai' slogan on every first and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Misrod police station here.

China on Tuesday confirmed that it has reached an agreement with India to end the standoff between the two armies in eastern Ladakh. “Over a recent period, China and India have been in close communication through diplomatic and military channels on issues related to the China-India border,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian told a media briefing here.

In a setback for the Congress in Kerala, former Youth Congress leader A K Shanib announced on Tuesday that he will contest as an independent candidate in the Palakkad Assembly bypoll. Shanib, who last week declared his resignation from the grand old party in protest against the fielding of Youth Congress president Rahul Mamkootathil for the seat, made his candidature official at a press conference held here. He said that he would file his nomination on October 24.

The nomination process for 38 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand where elections will be held on November 20 commenced on Tuesday with the issuance of the notification for the second phase of polls in the state.

The nomination process will continue until October 29, with submissions accepted from 11 am to 3 pm. Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases - November 13 and 20, with counting scheduled for November 23.

BJP leaders and workers staged protests across the city, accusing AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of spending taxpayers' money on personal comfort during his tenure as Delhi chief minister. The BJP leaders alleged that Kejriwal spent crores on lavish items and modern facilities at his official residence at 6 Flagstaff Road. Kejriwal after resigning as Delhi Chief minister vacated the Flagstaff Road bungalow in Civil Lines earlier this month.

As many as 30 domestic and international flights operated by Indian airlines received bomb threats on Monday night, according to sources. The flights of IndiGo, Vistara and Air India were among those that received the bomb threats, the sources in the know said.

An IndiGo spokesperson on Tuesday said four of its flights on Monday received security-related alerts. They are 6E 164 (Mangaluru to Mumbai), 6E 75, (Ahmedabad to Jeddah), 6E 67 (Hyderabad to Jeddah) and 6E 118 (Lucknow to Pune).

Two siblings were feared drowned in the Kengeri lake in the city, police said on Tuesday. The children, a boy and a girl were living with their mother in a slum next to the lake and were missing since Monday evening, police sources said. Police have launched a search operation.

An encounter took place between Delhi Police and criminals in Mehrauli area. After the encounter, Delhi Police arrested the biggest auto lifter of Meerut named Salman. Salman has over 50 cases registered against him. Delhi Police has arrested Salman along with his three other associates. A total of 5 rounds of bullets were fired in the encounter with the arrested accused.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) in an order on Monday, discontinued the services of all its contractual staff with immediate effect. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) blamed the role of the BJP behind the move saying that it was disappointing that the party "cruelly" chose Diwali, to render hundreds of DCW staff jobless and effectively 'terminating' their families' celebrations.

Odisha government's Office of Special Relief Commissioner issued a communique on Monday stating that the schools in 14 districts will remain closed from October 23 to October 25 as a precautionary measure, in view of the impending cyclonic storm.

PM Narendra Modi left for Russia to attend the 16th BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan, under the Chairmanship of Russia. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries.

India, the US, Australia and Japan have announced the continuation of the Quad Cyber Challenge for strengthening responsible cyber ecosystems, promoting public resources, and raising cybersecurity awareness. 

In a press release on Monday, the US State Department said, "Quad partners of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States--under the auspices of the Quad Senior Cyber Group--announced the continuation of our joint campaign, the Quad Cyber Challenge, to strengthen responsible cyber ecosystems, promote public resources, and raise cybersecurity awareness. The theme of this year's Challenge is promoting cybersecurity education and building a strong workforce."

Law enforcement officials found five people killed in a shooting inside a home southeast of Seattle on Monday morning and took a teenager into custody, police said.

Multiple people called 911 around 5 am to report a shooting in Fall City, Washington, King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Mike Mellis said at a media briefing Monday afternoon.
