    Ex-DU Professor Saibaba’s body to be donated to hospital, says family

    The body of former Delhi University professor and rights activist GN Saibaba who passed away in Hyderabad, will be donated to a hospital as he wished, said a statement issued by his family on Sunday. Saibaba, 58, was released from the Nagpur Central Jail after 10 years of incarceration after the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court set aside the life sentence given to him by a trial court, in an alleged Maoist links case in which the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was invoked.

    Baba Siddique to be laid to rest with full state honours at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai shortly

    NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on Saturday night. Today, he will be laid to rest at the Bada Qabrastan in Marine Lines. His funeral procession is underway, in which a large crowd of people has participated. Baba Siddique will be buried in grave B-13 at the Bada Cemetery. His mother and aunt are also buried in the same cemetery. As per the family's request, Baba will be laid to rest near his mother's grave.

    People across country 'scared' by killing of Baba Siddique: Kejriwal

    AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Sunday that people across the country are "scared" by the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai, and gangsters have created an almost similar atmosphere in Delhi. Kejriwal, without naming anyone, alleged "they" want to bring "Gangster Raj" in the country and the people will have to stand against them.     AMU professor duped of Rs 75 lakh in 'digital arrest' fraud

    A retired Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) professor was allegedly duped of more than Rs 75 lakhs by fraudsters posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) and putting her under 'digital arrest' for 10 days, police said on Sunday. An FIR was lodged on Friday by Qamar Jahan and the police immediately issued an alert to the concerned banks. Police found that the money had been routed through 21 different bank accounts, they said.

    Lucknow: 4 cops booked over death of Dalit man in police custody

    Two days after a 24-year-old Dalit man arrested during a raid on a gambling den died in police custody, an FIR has been registered against four policemen in connection with the case, officials said on Sunday. The family members of the deceased, identified as Aman Gautam, alleged that he was beaten to death by the cops on Friday night, a charge denied by the police who claimed Gautam died due to a heart attack.

    Road crash in Shimla leaves two dead

    Two persons were killed while another sustained injuries after a car overturned and veered off a road here, police said on Sunday. The accident took place on Chakkar Road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell from the link road.

    The deceased have been identified as Aman (27) and Vishal (27) while the injured has been identified as Kapil. All of them were natives of Uttar Pradesh but were living in Shimla.
