President's rule has been revoked in Jammu and Kashmir, according to an official order that paved the way for government formation in union territory.

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), a body representing Resident Doctors' Associations (RDAs) across India, called for a nationwide shutdown of elective services in hospitals from Monday in solidarity with medics' ongoing protest in West Bengal, an official of the body said.

Two police constables posted in Mahabubabad and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts in Telangana allegedly died by suicide in separate incidents, police said on Sunday.

The body of former Delhi University professor and rights activist GN Saibaba who passed away in Hyderabad, will be donated to a hospital as he wished, said a statement issued by his family on Sunday. Saibaba, 58, was released from the Nagpur Central Jail after 10 years of incarceration after the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court set aside the life sentence given to him by a trial court, in an alleged Maoist links case in which the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was invoked.

NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on Saturday night. Today, he will be laid to rest at the Bada Qabrastan in Marine Lines. His funeral procession is underway, in which a large crowd of people has participated. Baba Siddique will be buried in grave B-13 at the Bada Cemetery. His mother and aunt are also buried in the same cemetery. As per the family's request, Baba will be laid to rest near his mother's grave.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Sunday that people across the country are "scared" by the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai, and gangsters have created an almost similar atmosphere in Delhi. Kejriwal, without naming anyone, alleged "they" want to bring "Gangster Raj" in the country and the people will have to stand against them. Siddique (66), a former Maharashtra minister, was waylaid by three men at Kher Nagar in Mumbai's Bandra area just outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique's office and shot dead on Saturday night.

A 13-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries following an explosion in an iron pipe here, police said on Sunday. The explosion took place on Saturday when two minor boys were filling potassium into an iron pipe over the rooftop of a house in Sham Nagar on the occasion of Dussehra, they said.

A retired Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) professor was allegedly duped of more than Rs 75 lakhs by fraudsters posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) and putting her under 'digital arrest' for 10 days, police said on Sunday. An FIR was lodged on Friday by Qamar Jahan and the police immediately issued an alert to the concerned banks. Police found that the money had been routed through 21 different bank accounts, they said.

Two days after a 24-year-old Dalit man arrested during a raid on a gambling den died in police custody, an FIR has been registered against four policemen in connection with the case, officials said on Sunday. The family members of the deceased, identified as Aman Gautam, alleged that he was beaten to death by the cops on Friday night, a charge denied by the police who claimed Gautam died due to a heart attack.

Two men were detained on Sunday for allegedly attempting religious conversion in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, police said. The incident took place in Ram Kishore Tripathi colony of Gabhadiya area when a group of around 40 to 45 women and five to seven men gathered in the house of Deepa Maurya for religious conversion, they said.

Two persons were killed while another sustained injuries after a car overturned and veered off a road here, police said on Sunday. The accident took place on Chakkar Road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell from the link road.

The deceased have been identified as Aman (27) and Vishal (27) while the injured has been identified as Kapil. All of them were natives of Uttar Pradesh but were living in Shimla.

Two speeding trucks collided on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway here on Sunday, killing three persons standing on the road and seriously injuring another, police said. The deceased have been identified as Nanhe (35) and Raja (37) from Hapur, and Aqeel (39), a resident of Ghaziabad.

In another incident involving a suspicious object found on railway tracks, authorities on Saturday (October 12) confiscated a gas cylinder placed on a railway track in Uttarakhand's Roorkee. According to the information released, the gas cylinder was found lying on a route used for army train movements near Dhandera railway station in Uttarakhand's Roorkee.

During the interrogation, shooters said that they were paid in advance and received arms delivery a few days ago.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condoled the death of Indian industry titan Ratan Tata, calling him a champion of the friendship between Israel and India. The former Tata Group chairman passed away on Wednesday evening aged 86.
