    Rain-triggered floods and landslides have killed at least six people and injured as many across Nepal, police said on Monday. Three persons died in Taplejung and one each in Paanchthar, Nuwakot and Sankhuwasabha districts, the Nepal Police said.

    Shahid, Kriti's untitled movie to now release in December

    The release of the untitled film, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, has been postponed to December 7, the makers announced on Monday.
    The romance drama, written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, was previously scheduled to hit the screens in October.

    Army rescues 300 more tourists stranded in North Sikkim

     The Indian Army rescued 300 more tourists who were stranded in North Sikkim district due to landslides and roadblocks, an official statement said.
    The troops of Striking Lion Division, Trishakti Corps on Sunday assisted 300 stranded tourists at Chungthang in North Sikkim to cross over the temporary bridge for further move towards the state capital Gangtok, it said.
    The stranded tourists were provided food, resting place and medical comfort by the Army.

    Earthquake recorded off Myanmar's coast, shakes buildings in Thailand

     An earthquake was recorded off the southern coast of Myanmar on Monday with tremors also felt in Thailand, but there were no immediate reports of major damage.
    The 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded about 152 kilometers (95 miles) south of Yangon, Myanmar's biggest city, at 10 kilometers (6 miles) below the surface at 8:10 a.m., according to Myanmar's meteorology department.

    Rupee falls 6 paise to 81.96 against US dollar

    The rupee fell by 6 paise to 81.96 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday amid a strong American currency against major rivals overseas.
    FII inflows into local equities and falling crude price failed to support the Indian currency, analysts said.
    At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened lower at 81.93 and hit the lowest level of 81.98 before trading at 81.96, registering a fall of 6 paise over its previous close.

    Two survivors of a deadly shipwreck describe their ordeal to Greek authorities

    A Greek news website has published excerpts from the depositions of two survivors of Wednesday's deadly shipwreck off southwestern Greece, in which more than 500 people are feared drowned after an overcrowded boat carrying as many as 750 migrants went down in international waters.
    Passengers on the ill-fated trawler had to subsist on meager supplies of food and water which ran out several hours before the disaster, two survivors have reportedly testified.

    Blinken opens second day of talks in Beijing on mission to ease soaring US-China tensions

    US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has opened a second and final day of critical meetings with senior Chinese officials as the two sides expressed willingness to talk but showed little inclination to bend on hardened positions that have sent tensions soaring.
