An Indian national has died in Italy's Latina. The Indian Embassy in Italy said, "The Embassy is aware of the very unfortunate demise of an Indian national in Latina, Italy. We are in contact with local authorities. Efforts are underway to contact the family and provide consular assistance." 

Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that 20 children with a hole in their hearts have been identified. In order to save their lives, surgery was necessary so they were taken to Ahmedabad under the Bihar government's Bal Hriday Yojana. They are being taken to Ahmedabad to be treated free of cost, he added.

The Jharkhand government on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase the salaries and other perks of the chief minister, leader of opposition, speaker, ministers, and legislators by up to 50 per cent.

While legislators will receive a maximum salary hike of 50 per cent, CM and ministers will see increases of about 25 per cent and 31 per cent, respectively. The approval was granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Champai Soren.

Fire has broke out at a cake-making factory in the Badli area of Delhi. eight fire tenders have been rushed to the spot. According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a dousing operation is currently underway. 

As the national capital is reeling from the intense heatwave, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that the monsoon is expected to hit Delhi on June 30. In the past few days, the temperature in and around the national capital has touched record heights nearing 50 degrees Celcius. 

The distribution companies on Wednesday stated that Delhi's peak power demand has risen to an all-time high of 8,656 MW. The rising power demand is due to the sweltering heatwaves in and across the national capital. Earlier on Tuesday, this power demand was recorded at 8,647 MW.

A massive fire broke out at a historic forest bungalow in Jaldapara National Park in Alipurduar district last night. Four fire tenders were dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze after five hours of efforts. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities are conducting an investigation to assess the damage and determine the cause of the fire.
