Two men were arrested for allegedly selling juice contaminated with their spits here, police said on Sunday. The alleged incident took place on Saturday evening at a juice stall located near Garhi Chaukhandi village in Sector 121 when a local resident, Satish Bhatia, went there to have juice, they said.

"An FIR was lodged at the local phase 3 police station on Sunday morning and later in the day both the accused -- Jamshed (30) and Sonu alias Sahabe Alam -- were taken into police custody," a police spokesperson said. 

Foyr member delegation of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), which includes Ravi Shankar Prasad and Biplab Kumar Deb, met with the victims of pos-poll violence in West Bengal. After meeting the victims, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "We met the victims (of post-poll violence in West Bengal). What's happening under Mamata Banerjee's rule? Can't the people go to their homes after casting their votes? The brother of one of our workers was murdered and now he is being threatened. Minorities can't even celebrate Eid. Why is this happening after every election?"

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met his mother at AIIMS Rishikesh. He stayed with his mother for about 20 minutes and inquired about her health from the AIIMS director.

CM's mother Savitri Devi (85) has been admitted to AIIMS since June 7 due to eye problems. She is undergoing treatment in the geriatric ward. On Saturday, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also met Savitri Devi and inquired about her well-being.

The meeting regarding the upcoming Parliament session concluded at the house of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting lasted for 30 minutes. Leaders of the NDA like Kiran Rijiju, Chirag Paswan, Ram Mohan Naidu, Lallan Singh, among others were present in the meeting.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited AIIMS Rishikesh and met the injured in the Rudraprayag accident. He also met with the families of the affected.

During a Press Conference, Delhi Minister Atishi Marlena said that many parts of South Delhi did not receive water this morning because the main pipeline was intentionally broken yesterday. Accusing the BJP of conspiring to augment the water crisis, she said that step one of the conspiracy was asking the Haryana government to not send the water. Step two was breaking water pipelines and disrupting the water supply. Lastly. step three which was revealed today was the BJP sending goons to the Delhi Jal Board office to create ruckus.”

BJP leader Raja Singh has been arrested at Shamshabad airport for trying to visit Medak, where communal tension prevails over cattle transportation and sale issues.

Shamshabad Airport Police has said it is a preventive arrest as he wanted to go to Medak. Police further added that they dropped him off at his house:

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday defended the hike in petrol and diesel prices saying that it will ensure funding essential public services and development projects. With the opposition BJP and its ally JD(S) coming down heavily on the Congress government for increasing the petrol and diesel prices by Rs 3 and Rs 3.5 per litre respectively, Siddaramaiah said even after the hike, taxes on fuel remains low compared to most southern states. 

On Lok Sabha Speaker election, JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi says, "The position of a Lok Sabha Speaker is the most dignified post of the House... The ruling party has the first right on that seat. The demands and statements of the INDI alliance are objectionable. BJP or NDA have first right on that post. We believe that BJP is the big party of the NDA... I have been in NDA for the last 35 years... BJP never tried to break any party... TDP and JDU played a crucial role. We will never try to weaken the NDA..."

Amid the prevailing water crisis in the national capital, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said, "BJP will fight for the people of Delhi... Arvind Kejriwal, AAP and their corruption are responsible for tanker mafia, water loot and water leakage in Delhi... We will keep fighting for Delhi and its people."

The Delhi Fire Services on Sunday (June 16) informed that  major fire broke out in a factory in the Mundka Industrial Area. Around 35 fire tenders are present at the spot.

Delhi Water Minister Atishi wrote a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, requesting him to deploy police personnel to patrol and protect major pipelines in the city for the next 15 days. She said, as this would stop miscreants or people with ulterior motives from tampering water pipelines which have now become Delhi's lifelines.
