    Two illegal migrants from Myanmar, who entered India illegally on 01.11.2020 from Bangladesh border, were arrested from Uttam Nagar area.     Mizoram logs 8 new cases, tally rises to 4,322

    Mizoram on Sunday reported eight new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 4,322. Of the eight cases, seven were reported from Aizawl district and one from Kolasib district.

    Six cases were confirmed at Zoram Medical College's RT-PCR laboratory and two were detected through Rapid Antigen Test from Aizawl and Kolasib district.

    Mizoram now has 85 active COVID-19 cases, while 4,228 people have recovered from the virus and the coronavirus recovery rate in the state is 97.83 per cent, the official said. The COVID-19 death toll in Mizoram is nine so far.

    The state has tested 1,92,766 samples till date, of which 2.24 per cent was found positive for COVID-19.

    PM Modi pays tributes to MGR on birth anniversary

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to AIADMK founder and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran on his birth anniversary and lauded his efforts towards poverty alleviation and emphasis on women empowerment.

    Mercury dips at several places in Rajasthan

    Night temperatures dipped by a few degrees in parts of Rajasthan where Pilani was the coldest place with 1.4 degrees Celsius followed by Churu which shivered at 1.9 degrees. Dense fog also engulfed many parts of the state.

    Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Alwar, Bundi and Dabok recorded 2.5, 6.1, 6.3, 7.4, 9.6 and 10 degrees respectively. The night temperature in Ajmer, Jaipur, Barmer and Jodhpur was 11.1, 11.6, 12.3 and 13.2 degrees respectively, according to the weather department.

    Married couple, man held for thefts in Thane homes

    Three people were arrested for house-breaking thefts (HBT) in Thane's Kalyan and Ambernath areas, police said on Saturday. Shekhar Nair, his wife Sunita and accomplice Devendra Shetty would zero in on homes of which owners were out of station, carry out thefts and escape in motorcycles and autorickshaws with no number plates, said Kalyan ACP AT Pawar.     Four electrocuted to death in Rajasthan

    At least four persons died of electrocution and several others injured when a bus came in contact with hanging live electricity wire in Rajasthan's Jalore district on Saturday night.

    The incident occurred in Maheshpura village under Kotwali police station when the bus driver lost his track and entered into a rural area where the bus touched hanging wire and it caught fire, Deputy Superintendent of Police Himmat Singh said.

    The private bus was on its way to Beawar in Ajmer from Barmer. Four persons have died and several others injured, the DSP said, adding that the rescue operation is underway.
