    Poll authorities seize over Rs 49 lakh from bizman in Delhi

    Ahead of the Delhi polls, the surveillance team on Monday seized over Rs 49 lakh from a businessman in Arjun Nagar area, officials said. The static surveillance team made the seizure during a routine inspection in the area falling in the Krishna Nagar constituency, they said.
    In a statement issued by the Office of the District Election Officer (East), authorities said the businessman claimed that he was "carrying Rs 49.16 lakh cash for a business purpose".

    Militant killed in encounter in J&K

    A local militant was killed in a brief encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Monday, police said. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chadoora area following information about the presence of militants there, they said.

    A gunfight broke out after the lone militant opened fire on the security forces who retaliated, resulting in the killing of the ultra. The slain militant has been identified as Adil Ahmed, a resident of Budgam. His group affiliation was not immediately known.

    Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot says NDA govt ruining economy

    Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday said it's a matter of concern that the Centre is planning to seek another interim dividend from the RBI to meet its expenditure commitments and alleged the NDA government is "completely ruining" the economy.
    "Reports that government is planning to seek another interim dividend from RBI to meet its expenditure commitments are a matter of concern. Govt took away a large amount from RBI earlier too," Gehlot tweeted.
    "NDA govt is completely ruining the economy even as common people are increasingly facing financial hardships," he added.

    Immigration official at Mumbai airport commits suicide

     A 55-year-old Bureau of Immigration official at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport allegedly committed suicide on Monday morning, police said. NY Abhishay Babu jumped off the airport building and his body was found at a parking lot on level four of the structure, Sahar police station senior inspector Shashikant Mane said.

    "He is a junior intelligence officer with the Bureau of Immigration posted at Mumbai international airport. Probe into why he took this step is underway," Mane added.
