    Uttarakhand: Coaching centre sealed for violating safety norms

    A coaching centre being run in the basement of a private building here was sealed on Saturday for violating safety norms during a drive in Uttarakhand following the drowning of three IAS aspirants in Delhi. Several other coaching centres in the area were warned of strict action if they did not soon address the lack of safety equipment like fire extinguishers or emergency gates on their premises, an official said.

    An account clerk of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) was allegedly killed by a 'sewadar' at the SGPC office, adjoining the Golden Temple complex here, officials said on Saturday.

    According to the officials, SGPC 'sewadar' Sukhbir Singh attacked Darbara Singh, an account clerk at the committee, with a sharp-edged weapon following an altercation over some issue, the officials said.

    3 guards injured after being attacked by some people outside Kota hospital

    Three security guards were attacked by some unidentified people at the entry gate of a hospital here on Saturday morning, police said on Saturday. The incident at the Super Speciality Hospital in Kota Medical College, they said.

    During routine checking at the entry gate, around 5-6 unidentified men attacked the security guards with knives, another guard, Mahendra Singh said. Three guards -- Shiv Singh, Surendra ParasadSingh and Ramkaran -- got injured in the attack, the police said.

    Punjab CM Mann denied political clearance to visit Paris

    The Centre has denied political clearance to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his visit to Paris to support the Indian Hockey team at the Olympic Games. Mann, was scheduled to visit Paris from August 3 to 9 for the Indian hockey team's quarterfinal match on August 4, and had sought political clearance for his visit. However, the Centre denied him the permission, citing that since Mann is a Z-Plus security protectee, it is not possible to arrange his level of security at a short notice,

    Jharkhand: Police Sub-Inspector shot dead in Ranchi, SIT formed to investigate matter

    The Jharkhand Police reported on Saturday, August 3, that an unidentified assailant shot dead a sub-inspector posted in the Special Branch in Ranchi. The victim has been identified as Anupam Kachhap, a 2018 batch sub-inspector.     A child fell into a sewer in Delhi's Defence Colony area, rescued by locals

    Delhi Police informs that locals promptly rescued a child who fell into a sewer in the Defence Colony area. Police said, the sewer lid was covered with a plyboard, which the 8-year-old boy, stepped on. The plyboard broke, causing him to fall into the sewer. The child was promptly rescued with the help of people and didn’t sustain any injuries.
