Dongri police have registered a case against two suspects, Ankrish Kadam and Dhananjay Jadhav.

According to Dongri police, the case has been filed under sections 109, 126(2), 189(1), 189(2), 189(4), 190, 191(1), and 192(2) of the Bombay Police Act. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.

Dongri police confirmed that further inquiries are ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident and any additional involvement.

State-owned Punjab National Bank on Thursday raised the marginal cost of funds-based lending rate (MCLR) by 0.05 per cent, or 5 basis points, across tenors, making most of the consumer loans costlier. The benchmark one-year tenor MCLR, which is used to price most consumer loans such as auto and personal, will be at 8.90 per cent against the earlier rate of 8.85 per cent, PNB said in a regulatory filing.

A 40-year-old man was killed allegedly by Naxalites in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on the suspicion of being a police informer, officials said. The incident took place on Tuesday, they said. The deceased, identified as Lalu Durva, was a resident of Mirgudvancha in Bhamragad tehsil. On July 30, some Naxalites forced Durva to come out of his house and killed him.

A fire broke at a plastic moulding factory in west Delhi's Mayapuri area on Thursday morning and no one was injured in the incident, officials said. According to an official of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the fire broke out on the first floor of the two-storey building in the morning. Four fire tenders, which were pressed into service, brought the blaze under control within an hour.

Yatra pilgrims were electrocuted to death in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Thursday morning when their vehicle came into contact with a high-tension overhead wire, police said. Three others were injured. The incident happened at Tam Tam Tola in Balumath police station area around 3 am. The pilgrims were returning from Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar when their vehicle hit an electricity pole, police added.

A couple was injured after the plaster of the ceiling of their flat in Maharashtra's Thane city fell on them in the wee hours of Thursday, a civic official said. The incident occurred around 4 am in the ground floor flat of a two-storey building in Bedekar Nagar area of Diwa, he said. "The ceiling plaster fell on the couple when they were asleep," Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), said. 

Six people, including three of a family, were killed and as many injured in Uttarakhand as heavy rains led to house collapses, flooding of areas and rise in water levels in many rivers of the state, officials said. In Devchauli in Chamoli district, a woman and a child are missing since Wednesday evening after a house collapsed, they said and added that a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has left for the spot.

A family is reported to have gone missing following a cloudburst in a village in the Ghansali area of Tehri district, officials said. A house collapsed due to heavy rain in Bharpur village near Roorkee in Haridwar district, killing three people and injuring more than half a dozen after they got buried under the debris, police said.
