A strong earthquake jolted major parts of North India on Tuesday, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The earthquake tremors were felt at 4:33 pm today. The earthquake was experienced in Pakistan as well and had its epicentre in PoK's Mirpur. The epicentre is said to be 173 km NW of Lahore in Pakistan.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the tremors were felt in Rajouri and Poonch. The earthquake shook parts of Jalandhar, Amritsar, Pathankot in Punjab. The tremors continued for a period of 15-20 seconds. There was no immediate report of loss of life or property. Panic-stricken people rushed out of their homes and offices at some places in the region.
Earlier on September 9, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit border region of Himachal Pradesh along with some parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earthquake in Pakistan, buildings collapse in Mirpur:
Earthquake measuring magnitude 5.8 hit Pakistan. The epicentre was said to be South-East of Mirpur in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). The depth of the earthquake was measured to be 10.0 km, according to USGS. Many buildings collapsed in Mirpur in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Over 50 people are believed to be trapped under the debris at one of the building collapse sites owing to the strong intensity of the earthquake.

Chief of Army Staff in Pakistan directed immediate rescue operation for victims of earthquake. Army troops with aviation and medical support teams too were dispatched.
