New Delhi : ‘Indira Gandhi: Meri Maa', a book on her relationship with Kanta Manchanda, who was like her daughter, was released on the occasion of the 96th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister here yesterday.
The book highlighting the relationship between Gandhi and Manchanda was released by Member of Rajya Sabha Karan Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
While releasing the book, Singh said though Gandhi was called the “Iron Lady” and “Durga” by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the book had brought out a different persona of her.
The book is a compilation of memories and pictures presenting the deep bond between the mother and her daughther, said Dikshit.
Among others, former aide of Gandhi R K Dhawan and Buta Singh were also present at the book launch function.
