Bomb threat in schools: Delhi Police says it was a hoax, requests people not to panic

Bomb threat updates: According to Delhi Police, efforts are being made to find out the IP address of the threatening email but till now it has not been possible to locate who has sent the email to all schools in Delhi-NCR and from where.

Bomb threat updates: The Delhi Police said that the bomb threat at schools seemed to be a hoax and requested people not to panic after more than 100 schools in Delhi and Noida received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday morning. As per the precautionary measure, all the students have been evacuated and have been sent home. Delhi LG VK Saxena spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also said that there is no need to panic and It appeared to be a hoax call. The MHA said that the Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol.

    Delhi LG seeks detailed report into the bomb threats at schools

    Delhi LG VK Saxena spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. "Directed Delhi Police to carry out a thorough search in school premises, identify the culprits & ensure there are no lapses," he said.

    Over 100 schools received same threatening emails

    Threatening emails were sent to approximately 100 schools, including those in Delhi and NCR regions, with the same content. Alongside the Delhi Police, the Home Ministry's Central Agency is also monitoring these threat emails. 

    Both police and fire brigade received over 60 bomb threat calls from schools in Delhi, with an additional 40 calls reported near Noida in Greater Noida. Fortunately, no suspicious items were found during investigations, which have been completed at most locations. However, many security protocols are still being followed. Despite efforts, the IP address of the email sender has not yet been identified.

    Delhi Police working to trace IP address of sender

    The Delhi Police is actively working to trace the IP address of the threatening email, but as of now, they have been unable to identify the sender or the origin of the email.
