Allahabad: Unidentified persons attacked a leading private hospital here with a crude bomb late last night.
Nobody was injured in the explosion that left the hospital's glass door shattered and triggered panic among the patients and staff members.
The incident took place around midnight last night when a couple of motorcycle-borne youths pulled up in front of the hospital premises and hurled a crude bomb, said Dr Alok Mishra, one of the Directors of Phoenix Super-speciality Hospital situated in the posh Tagore Town locality of the city.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Neeti Dwivedi said a case has been registered in this connection while efforts were on to identify and nab the culprits whose faces are visible in the CCTV footage obtained from the hospital authorities.
Mishra said a meeting of Allahabad Nursing Home Welfare Association would be held today to take stock of the situation and discuss future course of action “in an environment wherein medical practitioners are likely to feel unsafe, much to the detriment of the hapless patients”.
