Srinagar: BJP candidate Thupstan Chhewang won from Ladakh Parliamentary constituency with a narrow margin of 36 votes from his nearest rival Ghulam Raza, a congress rebel who was fighting the elections as an independent.
Chhewang polled 31,111 votes, while Raza got 31,075.
Two other candidates in the fray from the constituency— Independent Syed Mohammad Qazim and Congress candidate Tsering Samphel—secured 28,234 and 26,402 votes, respectively.
