Lucknow, Oct 30: In order to effectively implement orders on wearing helmets, Uttar Pradesh government today asked officials concerned to see that riders without helmets are not providedpetrol at the pumps.
“Police and transport department officials should ensure, with the help of petrol pump owners, that petrol is not given to those who are without helmets,” an official release quotingTransport Minister Mahendra Aridaman Singh said.
The minister also appealed to parents to not allow their wards to ride two-wheelers without helmets. Expressing concern over rising cases of fatal accidents, he directed the transport commissioner to ensure that reflective tapes, back lights and reflectors are used on vehicles especially buses, trucks and tractor trolleys to improve visibility during the winter fog.
