Bengaluru man drags elderly: In a horrific incident, a man dragged an elderly behind a scooter for about a kilometre on Bengaluru's Magadi road, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday. Citing the police, the agency said that the victim is currently under medical treatment at a city hospital.

Meanwhile, DCP West Bengaluru said that the accused driver has been apprehended by the police at PS Govindaraj Nagar.

According to multiple media reports, the accused has been identified as Sahil and was reportedly smashed with 71-year-old Muttappa's car. The incident happened when Muttappa got out of the car to have a conversation with the scooter driver. The elderly reportedly tried to pull the scooter, but the nervous two-wheeler motorist drove the vehicle amid fear of being scolded.

"The victim identified as Muttappa (71), a native of Vijayapur district, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Govindaraj Nagar police have apprehended the two-wheeler driver," a senior official said. "We are further looking into the incident," he added.

"If he had said sorry, I would have let him go": victim

"He was arrogant, did not stop after hitting my Bolero from behind and tried to flee away. So I did not want to leave him. He tried his best to escape and wanted me to leave his scooter, he rode the vehicle like a snake. A couple of youngsters followed and tried to attack and stop him. Finally, a couple of auto drivers and bikers managed to stop him and caught hold of him," Muthappa said.

He said, "the public called the ambulance and I have been given treatment. Many people had gathered there, they even beat him. If he had said sorry after hitting my vehicle, I would have let him go. " "My shoes and a new set of pants that I had worn protected me to a large extent, they both are torn now," he said, adding that he has some injuries on the lower part of his body.

Notably, the incident comes nearly two weeks after the hit-and-drag case in which a 20-year-old woman was killed in Delhi. During the incident, the victim, Anjali Singh, got stuck under the wheels of a car and was dragged for nearly 13 km, resulting in the death of the 20-year-old.
