Patna, July 1: In a dastardly act, two miscreants allegedly chopped off the arm of an 8-year-old girl Uzma Ara on Thursday night on road No 12 outside Rajendra Nagar railway terminal here.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has ordered senior police officials to carry out a probe and catch the culprits.
Uzma Ara is the daughter of a tailor master Ainul Haq Ansari, resident of Darbhanga. Nearly a month ago, Ansari's four-year-old son Zulfiqar was abducted by two persons, Basheer Kunjra and Raja Kunjra, while he was going to a cyber cafe with his elder brother.
The miscreants demanded and collected Rs 2 lakh ransom from the tailor and demanded Rs 1 lakh more. The tailor, along with his wife, elder son Najeeb and daughter Uzma came to Patna to lodge a complaint with the Director General of Police, but were accosted outside Rajendra Nagar railway terminal by Raja Kunjra, his nephew Bobby Khan and two others.
"They snatched Rs 14,000 from me, and while I began to run, my daughter Uzma was left behind. The miscreants chopper off her right arm", said Ansari.
Local residents rushed the girl to Patma Medical College Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Surprisingly, police got this information 24 hours after the incident. Police now says the girl lost her arm while alighting from the train.
The miscreants have absconded.
