Jaish-e-Mohammed's terror facility in Pakistan's Balakot, which was bombed by the Indian Air Force earlier this year, has been reactivated Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said on Monday. He also said that around 500 infiltrators were waiting to infiltrate into India.
Pakistan has reactivated Balakot terror camp: What it means
The Indian Air Force carried out pre-dawn strikes in February to destroy terror camps in Balakot. During the aerial confrontation, Wing Commander Varthaman brought down a Pakistani F-16 but was taken prisoner near the Line of Control (LOC). He was later released by Islamabad. The airstrikes were seen in retaliation to the deadly terror attacks on CRPF personnel in Pulwama in February this year.
"Balakot has been reactivated by Pakistan very recently. That shows that Balakot has been affected. It had been damaged and destroyed. And that is why people have got away from there and now it has been reactivated," Army Chief General Bipin Rawat told reporters at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
500 infiltrators waiting to enter India, Bipin Rawat says
Army Chief Bipin Rawat said around 500 infiltrators were waiting to infiltrate into the country.
"...some action had been taken by Indian Air Force and now they have got the people back there," he said.
"Pakistan violates ceasefire to push terrorists into our territory. We know how to deal with ceasefire violations. Our troops know how to position themselves and take action. We are alert and will ensure that maximum infiltration bids are foiled."
Quite recently, Pakistan was placed on an "enhanced blacklist" by the global terror finance watchdog Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
