JK-Haryana Election Results LIVE: BJP appears set for surprise hat-trick in Haryana; NC-Congress lead in J-K

CPM candidate Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami leads in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam by 3,654 votes. JKPC leader Sajad Gani Lone leads in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara by just 964 votes.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina is trailing in the Nowshera assembly constituency, while former Deputy chief minister and Congress candidate Tara Chand is behind his rivals in the Chhamb seat, according to the Election Commission website.

As per the Election Commission, the BJP has crossed the majority mark.

 According to EC, there are 14 such seats in which the margin between the Congress and the BJP is less than 1000 votes.

BJP crosses half way in Haryana in early trends for the first time, says Election Commission

Anil Vij said, "BJP is leading in the elections and they (Congress) are celebrating because many people in the Congress party want Bhupinder Singh Hooda to lose the elections...I will accept the mandate of the public. If the high command wants, I will be the Chief Minister"

As per early trends, the BJP is ahead in 38 seats and Congress in 31 seats, as per Election Commission.

The leading candidates are - Mubarak Gul leads in Eidgah, Ahsan Pardesi in Lal Chowk, Waheed Parra of PDP in Pulwama, Rafiq Naik from PDP in Tral, Tanvir Sadiq of NC, Shameema Firdous in Habbakadal, Tariq Karra from centre Shalteng

BJP leads on 13, JKNC on 10, Congress on 2 and PDP on 1, as per the official EC trends, as counting of votes on 90 Assembly seats continues.

As per trends on 9 AM, Congress+NC are ahead in 41 seats, and BJP in 35. Others in 14. PDP leader and Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mehbooba Mufti leads in Jammu and Kashmir's Srigufwara-Bijbehara.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah leads in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal.

Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda leads in Haryana's Garhi Sampla-Kiloi

JKNC Vice President and party's candidate from Ganderbal & Budgam, Omar Abdullah said, " We have the hope that we will win. The decision made by the voters of J&K, we will get to know by today afternoon. There should be transparency...if people's mandate is against BJP, they shouldn't pull off any tricks...we did alliance so we can win and we are hoping to win..."

Haryana: Congress candidate Varinder Singh Rathore is leading in Gharaunda and Mahavir Gupta is leading from Jind.

BJP candidate Pramod Kumar Vij is leading in Haryana's Panipat City

Haryana: BJP's Arvind Sharma is trailing in Haryana's Gohana

According to early trends, Congress is leading in 27 seats in Haryana. Congress candidate Balwan Singh Doulatpuria is leading in Haryana's Fatehabad. BJP's Arvind Sharma is trailing in Haryana's Gohana. Vinesh Phogat is leading in Julana.

Haryana: In initial trends, Congress candidate Dharam Singh Chhoker is leading in Samalkha, Karan Singh Dalal from Palwal. Gopal Kanda trails from Sirsa. 

Strong room opened in Karnal. Counting of votes began at 8 am 

After three phases of polling in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, the results of all 180 constituencies will be out today. The results will start coming out from 8 AM. 

Himadri Kaushik, DCP Panchkula said, "We have two counting centres here, Kalka and Panchkula, Police forces are ready and we have made all the preparations...we are ready to tackle any situation...CISF, paramilitary, district Police all are present right now..."

Haryana: Virender Ghogharian, Independent candidate from Uchana kalan Assembly constituency said,  " ...I have received enough love and support...I am sure that I will go to Assembly..."

Ahead of the counting of votes, Jhajjar Deputy Commissioner Capt. Shakti Singh says, "...Randomisation of counting staff will be done, it will be decided which counting staff will go to which table...Strong room will be opened and counting will begin at 8 am...Only designated counting agents are being allowed to enter...Only those on election duty are being permitted entry..."

Delhi: Congress worker Jagdish Sharma says, "...I think the entire country is congratulating us. Even people from BJP are congratulating us. This is the triumph of victory and defeat of lies. Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra and Nyay Yatra, speaking for farmers, women and labourers and pushing every caste and religion forward are being liked by the people. We are winning Haryana & J&K. People are liking Rahul Gandhi. Now Narendra Modi's time is up..."

JKNC vice president and party's candidate from Ganderbal & Budgam, Omar Abdullah tweets, "...wishing all my colleagues and allies the very best of luck for today. We fought the good fight & now, InshaAllah, the results will reflect that."

On security arrangements for counting of votes, SSP Rajouri Randeep Kumar says, "...We have made all efforts to have foolproof security arrangements, we have made all efforts to ensure that nobody faces any inconvenience. Only those with issued ID cards are being allowed after checking... Police and paramilitary forces are alert and we have made proper arrangements for security. The counting process will conclude peacefully...All our surveillance equipment is working. All teams are alert."

Ahead of counting for votes, Independent candidate from Ramban, Suraj Singh Parihar said, "The zeal among people is very high...This democratic process has reached the final moments of its final stage. Counting will be held today...Voters must be waiting eagerly..."

Haryana: Security heightened in Rohtak ahead of the counting 

Haryana CM and BJP candidate from Ladwa assembly constituency Nayab Singh Saini arrives at Saini Samaj Dharamshala in Kurukshetra.  "Today is the day of counting and I am confident that as a result of the works done by the BJP government in the past ten years, we will be forming the government in Haryana for the third time...Our government will continue to serve the people of Haryana. Congress works for power, BJP works for service..," Saini said.

The BJP, the Congress, the INLD-BSP and the JJP-Azad Samaj Party alliances, and the Aam Aadmi Party were the key poll contestants. However, a direct fight between the ruling BJP and the Congress was expected in most seats.

A total of 1,031 candidates are in the fray, including 101 women and 464 independents in Haryana. It has recorded a voter turnout of 67.90 per cent with Ellenabad assembly seat in Sirsa district witnessing the highest polling percentage at over 80 per cent. Among the districts, the highest 75.36 per cent voting was recorded in Sirsa and the lowest 56.49 per cent in Faridabad district. In the 2019 assembly polls, the state had recorded 68.31 per cent turnout while in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for 10 seats, the percentage was 64.8.

Several exit polls on Saturday predicted a clear majority for the Congress in Haryana and gave an edge to its alliance with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, with the regional partner emerging as the single largest party.

After three phases of polling in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, the results of all 180 constituencies will be out today. The results will start coming out from 8 AM.
