Guwahati, Mar 21: Police in Cachar district of Assam on Wednesday seized a huge cache of explosives from a car and arrested three men from another district of the state.
The explosives were recovered from a car that was heading towards Nagaland from Mizoram's capital Aizwal. The car was detained at a check-gate near Aizwal-Mizoram border.
Police arrested three men from Dima Hasao district of Assam, in connection with this incident. The arrested have been identified as Lalrin Powama, Thoyti and Rabin Ingti.
“We have recovered 145 kilograms gelatine and 694 pieces of fuse wires from them,” said officer commanding of Dholai police, A H Choudhary.
Police suspected these men to be involved with the militant groups of Nagaland.
